Vaping Top Tips
How to tell when your coil needs changing
Coils do not last forever so therefore its important to prime your coils so you don’t burn them out, the following are the most obvious indicators of a burnt coil:
- You may find that the taste of your vape is very faint or perhaps non-existent when compared to previous vaping experiences.
- Your vape may not produce as much cloud/vapour, but this is also a symptom of a low battery, therefore it is possible that it is not your coil (but it is still a sign of a burnt coil).
- You get a burnt taste when vaping
- Your device may begin to leak as a result of your coil getting oversaturated, which means it is now flooded and unable to maintain the necessary barrier to prevent liquid leakage.
- If you remove the coil from a sub-ohm vape and see that the cotton inside is pitch black, you should replace it; new coils have pure white cotton.
Ways to maximise your vaping experience (regular vaping)
- Replace the coil as needed.
- Keep your tank full at all times, ideally above the refill line.
- Check that you're storing your device correctly, with nothing on top applying pressure on it; excessive pressure can damage your device and create leaks.
Ways to maximise your vaping experience (sub-ohm vaping)
- As needed, replace your coils.
- When vaping, make sure all air flow holes are entirely open for optimum cloud production.
- For the best flavour and thickest clouds, use a high or even maximum VG juice.
- Always make sure the wick (cotton) in your coil is totally wet.
- Always lower the power for the first 10-20 draws when using a new coil.
Battery life and charging
- To ensure a long battery life, let your device's battery completely discharge before charging it. Batteries can be "trained" to perform optimally using this method.
- Do not charge your device for more than 4 hours; additionally, overnight charging is widely discouraged in the vaping industry.
- It is advised that you charge the batteries of your devices using a laptop/PC, but if all of your laptop/USB PC's ports are in use, a portable charger will serve. You should not charge your smartphone with a wall plug since these plugs can send too much power through your battery, causing it to briefly shut down.
- Before removing your tank, make sure the connection points are clean and dry. A congested connection point will prevent a proper connection between your tank and device, resulting in the device not firing when activated.
- It is highly recommended that you switch off your device when charging it. This will protect your battery and circuitry during the charging procedure.
